Vanilla Skies
Music and Lyrics by Rob Oswin
(aka RAW Boswin)
The "vanilla sky" in Vanilla Sky refers to a Monet painting owned by the
main character, but in a larger sense it is used as a metaphor for a life
free of pain or difficulty, a dreamlike, ethereal realm where one is cradled
in the warm hues of perpetual summer sunset.

I've been waiting for the phone
to ring, To help me change my mind
While you've moved on to less
important things, And left this all behind

But I won't fall to pieces, And I'll never close my eyes

While I'm searching for the answers In
your cold Vanilla Skies.
The more I think of it, the less
I need to know, The more you'd need to say.
And every time I think we've
made another breakthrough, Life gets in the way.

You can dust
your cotton candy storms, In shades of lavender and orange

And twist your

up my eyes

There'll be no
surprise… To see your Cold Vanilla
Skies.
